One of the most common hesitations with digital signage is the assumption that setup will be complicated. Maybe you’ll need to hire a technician, configure network settings, or install server software. With IntelDisplay, none of that is necessary. You can go from unboxing a screen to displaying your content in under five minutes.
Here’s exactly how it works.
Before you start, make sure you have:
Turn on your Android TV device and open the Google Play Store (or sideload the APK if you prefer). Search for the IntelDisplay player app and install it. The app is lightweight and installs quickly.
Once installed, launch the app. It will display a 6-character registration code on screen. This code is what links the physical display to your IntelDisplay account — no IP addresses, no port forwarding, no manual device configuration.
Open a web browser on your computer, phone, or tablet and log in to the IntelDisplay management console. Navigate to the Displays section and click “Add Display.” Enter the 6-character code shown on your screen.
That’s it — the display is now registered to your account. You’ll see it appear in your display list with its current status, resolution, and orientation.
Go to the Media section in the console and upload your files. You can drag and drop images, videos, or a mix of both. IntelDisplay supports over 200 image formats and all major video codecs, so you don’t need to worry about converting files beforehand.
Uploads are chunked into 60 MB segments and are resumable, which means even large video files (up to 3 GB) upload reliably regardless of your connection quality. The platform also uses SHA256 deduplication, so if you upload the same file twice, it won’t waste your storage.
Head to the Playlists section and create a new playlist. Add the media files you just uploaded, set the display duration for each item (for images), and arrange them in your preferred order.
A playlist is simply a sequence of content that plays in a loop. You can mix images and videos freely — the player handles transitions smoothly.
Go back to your display’s settings and assign the playlist you just created. Within moments, the player app will download the content and begin playback. The content is cached locally on the device, so it continues playing even if the internet connection drops.
Your display is now live. From the management console, you can:
Setting up digital signage doesn’t need to be a project. With IntelDisplay, it’s a task — one you can complete during a coffee break. Create your account and get your first screen running today.
